Bra

Bra Types

Once a girl starts to develop breasts, the issue of finding a suitable bra can be quite frustrating. Knowing the type of bra and the different conditions under which you need a regular bar or a specialty bra will take away the frustrations in dealing and finding the right fit. A badly fitting bra could lead to all sorts of problems muscle tension, headaches, back pain etc. Below are different bra types and what they are used for to help you make an informed decision.

Training Bra

As girls start to approach puberty the differences between a boy and girl begin to appear and girls start to develop breasts. It is usually an exciting and terrifying period for the girl as her body begins to undergo some changes and her breast start to form. Most are eager to start wearing standard bras, but because of their size they’ll have to start with training bras.

Light Support Bra

This is also known as the wireless bra and as the name suggest does not have any wire reinforcement at the lower part of the breast. These are ideal for small sized breasts. They are comfortable and less constricting and come in two main types, the padded and unpadded.

Full Support Bra

These are bra with some reinforcement at the lower part of the bra to maintain the shape of the bra. It can be used for small cup sizes and for large cup sizes too. However it is preferable for the latter because the reinforcement provides support for the breast and also helps the individual maintain a good posture. It is available in the padded and unpadded variety.

Mastectomy Bra

These are specialty bras for individuals who have lost a breast or both breasts to accidents or diseases. Mastectomy bras provide support and boost the confidence of women that have undergone mastectomy. The bras have pockets in them that can hold a breast prosthesis helping the individual maintain symmetry and balance.

Wonder Bra

These are very popular bras and are also know as wonder bras. They are padded bras that help lift and push the breast forward. There are many different types in the market today. There are wonder bras with extra padding and some that have silicone inserts. They all provide support in one form or the other and create a full cleavage.

Sports Bra

As the name suggests these are bras used during exercise such as running, playing basket ball or any sports where the breasts are bound to bounce up and down. The sport bra is also recommended for growing teenagers.

Nursing Bra

Nursing bras are excellent for the nursing mother. They provide quick and easy access for the nipple. It is advisable for an expectant woman to purchase nursing bras larger than her regular bra sizes as the breast do grow in size during pregnancy and also during nursing when engorged with milk. It would probably be preferable to buy a nursing bra made from cotton as this is breathable. Also a nursing mother should invest in nipple pads to absorb milk discharges and also prevent the nipple from getting sore.

Find The Perfect Bra

Fit is crucial when you choose a bra to enhance, support or show off your bust. It’s the key to keep you comfortable and support your breasts properly. Here are several tips to help you find the ideal bra.
1. Use a measuring tape to measure around your bare rib cage, just beneath your naked breasts. This number indicates the band size most appropriate for your figure.
2. Measure the widest part of your bust, sliding the tape around the middle of your back. Hold the tape as level as possible to ensure accuracy.
3. Note the difference between the two measurements. Use the following as a guide, and try on a range of sizes above and below your measurement: If your bust measurement is up to 1/2 inch larger than your band size, then your cup size is an AA. A measurement of 1/2 inch to 1 inch more than the band size indicates an A cup, 1 to 2 inches indicates a B cup, 2 to 3 inches indicates a C cup, 3 to 4 inches indicates a D cup, and 4 to 5 inches indicates a DD or E cup.
4. Select a range of bras according to your band and cup size.
5. Try on a bra. Place your hands through the straps and bend over to allow your breasts to fall into the cups. The cups should contain your breasts and should center your nipple in the fullest part.
6. Close the bra using the middle hook. Look for a band that fits snugly but doesn’t cut into your rib cage. If it’s too tight, try adjusting the hook closure before proceeding to a larger size.
7. Adjust the straps so the band fits comfortably under the breasts and around the rib cage. If the bra seems to slip forward, if you find yourself pulling up on the straps, or if it feels as if your breasts are falling out of the bottom of the cups, the band size is too big.
8. Check the fabric or bridge between your breasts. This should lie flat on the breastbone. If it sticks up or stabs your breastbone uncomfortably, try a larger cup size. If it puckers, try a smaller size.
9. Move up a cup size if your breasts bulge from the bra. Move down a size if you notice wrinkles in the cup material.

Wearing A Right Bra

braFor many women, a bra is an everyday necessity, but wearing for many years doesn’t make everyone to be an expert on how to wear a bra. A lot of women don’t know their correct bra size. As a result, they aren’t completely comfortable in their bras. There are also some who don’t really understand the difference in bra styles and therefore choose the wrong bra for certain. Knowing how to choose the right bra for a particular outfit will make sure the focus is all on you.
Here are some examples of shirt and dress styles and how to choose the best bra for them:
Sheer: If you wear a sheer white top, it’s best to select a white lace bra camisole or solid white camisole beneath it. For a sheer black top, a black cami works best. However, you can also wear a flesh-colored longline or regular bra (flesh will be different for different people, depending on your complexion) beneath it, but it should be full-coverage and not lacy or sheer.
Spaghetti strap: Not only can you find a convertible bra that allows you to change how to wear your bra straps, you can also buy clear bra straps that will blend in with your skin. Tops and dresses with skinny straps look best when your bra doesn’t compete.
Low-cut: A push-up or padded bra can give you cleavage if that’s the look you’re after in shirt with a plunging neckline. If this top is also tight, a T-shirt bra, with its smooth contours, will give you the molded look you want without being distracting. You want a plain, non-lacy bra beneath a close-fitting shirt.
Square neck: An open or square neck top works well with a demi-cup bra, especially if the shirt is low-cut. Because demi-cup bras often have straps that sit closer to the shoulders than regular bras, they work well with tops that expose much of your neck and upper chest.
Retro: Say you like playing pin-up girl on occasion. Modern style bras won’t do you justice. You need a bullet bra to fully realize your retro look. These bras look great under sweaters and sweater sets.

To Buy a Bra to Enhance Cleavage

braWomen have been trying to choose the bras which can enhance their cleavage. Whether you are looking to make your small breasts appear to have more cleavage, or you want to make your large breasts provide a more shapely and natural cleavage, a good bra can help you.
Here are some useful tips for you.
1. You can shop for a bra that squeezes and pushes your breasts together in order to enhance your cleavage. I think every woman can easily identify the bras by the extra padding that can be found underneath and along the sides of the cups, along the cut-off line. For larger-breasted women, more support may be found along the cut-off line in the form of wiring.
2. In order to enhance cleavage, silicone inserts or padding can be used in your bra. Because, silicone inserts will fill out the parts of the bra cup that do not conform to your breasts, they are lifting up your breasts and increasing cleavage.
3. Some of the newer types of push-up bras may be good to enhance your cleavage. Now, some bras may contain air, gel or water as their padding. And wearing this kind of bra, it will present a more natural look, and lift and squeeze your breasts at the same time.
4. Combining your new bra with a tight-fitting top, or one with a plunging neckline.
5. Find a bra that not only enhances your cleavage, but is also comfortable to wear over long periods of time. Using a bra that may pinch or constrict the circulation of blood in your breasts may cause them to appear splotchy, red or even unnaturally pale. While a tighter bra will definitely enhance cleavage, too tight of a bra will have a less-desired effect. So when you are going to select the bra, you have to be carefully.

To Buy Fit Bra

bra An outfit’s success depends on its basic foundation. Without the right bra, your clothes will not fit correctly. Despite the importance of the right fit, most women buy ill-fitting bras. They often buy bras that are too small or too large, causing their outfits to look sloppy, and causing them to suffer from lack of support. To solve these problems, you should determine your size, and shop wisely for a good-fitting bra.
To get your correct bra band size. Wrap a measuring tape around your ribcage just below your breasts. Keep the measuring tape parallel to the ground to ensure the most accurate measurement. Round any fractional measurement number to the nearest whole number. If the number is even, add 4 inches. If the number is odd, add 5 inches. If you measured 32 inches, your band size would be 36 inches.
Your correct bra cup size is just as easy to find. Measure your cup size. Stand straight with your arms at your side. Wrap a measuring tape around your body at the fullest part of your bust. Keep the measuring tape parallel to the ground. If the number is a fraction, round to the nearest whole number.
If you are still unsure of your correct bra size, you can go to the lingerie store. Many lingerie departments or stores offer bra fittings as part of their customer service. Though you may have already determined your bra size, it doesn’t hurt to seek professional assistance. Your self-measured bra size might not match the brand’s measurements.

Tips For Choosing Bras

wedding lingerieSummer is coming, every girl wants to show her good shape. They want to buy beautiful dresses, flirty swimsuit, etc. But I think the first thing to buy is bra. No matter what style of clothes you choose, you should wear a suitable bra under it. A good bra can increase the aesthetic feeling of your body shape.

Here are some tips to help your to choose your own bras in summer. 1. When you wear strapless dresses, you should choose strapless bra. A strapless bra, more than any other style, requires a perfect fit. Be 100 percent sure you are wearing the correct bra size as a strapless bra is not as forgiving as other types. Beige is the best color choice for a strapless bra. The deeper the color, the better it blends with your natural skin tone, hence blending in with your clothes.

2.A wide-set strapped bra is a great choice for women who like to wear open-necked or scooped tops. This type of bra allows the bra straps to be hidden, but usually only works best for women with square shoulders. Women who have sloped shoulders find that they cannot keep the bra straps up, so they constantly have to pull up their straps.

3.A plunge bra, if you’re planning on wearing any shirts or v neck dresses or plunging front, it’s a good idea to buy a bra that’s specifically designed with a plunging front. These bras will offer you great support and subtle shaping (available with or without push-up) and have cups that meet at the band, so you don’t run the risk of showing more bra than you want.

Just remember that choosing the right bra will depend on what you are wearing and what activities you are planning.
