Right Bra For Your Prom Dress

Years ago all bras were very similar and the choices a woman had were quite limited. Now women no longer have to settle for just a basic white bra, they can have bras for work, for party and in just about any imaginable color and style.

Today I will introduce gown styles below and what bra accompanies it.

Strapless prom dresses, these are very popular for prom and require a strapless bra. Ideally, the bra should have boning or underwire support in the band and/or sides of the cup. Because the bra doesn’t have straps the underwire/boning is to give your breasts the extra support they need. You may also need a bra that comes with adhesive strips that will help keep the cups in place.

Halter neck dresses, this style is becoming more and more popular as they can enhance a woman’s bust and make her look very sexy. You need a demi-cup bra with underwire. If you’re on the small side, you might also consider a bra that comes with extra padding that will enhance your cleavage.

Open back dresses, for this style of gown you require a bandless, strapless bra. Obviously, as the bra has no band or straps, it requires adhesive strips on the inside of the cups to keep them in place. This type of bra doesn’t offer much support but a backless prom gown does look sensational.

V neck dresses, for this style, you should choose deep v necklines bra. The bra where the cups are joined by a thinner band near the bottom of the bra. These bras are commonly referred to as ‘plunge’ or ‘cut away’ bras.

At last, don’t wait until Prom Night to try the bra and dress on together. Try them both on together well beforehand. This way you can make any changes that are required and even buy another bra if necessary. Testing out your bra and prom dress will also give you the confidence that you’re going to look your best for Prom.
